IMPROVED!

An elegantly fashioned cutting tool, designed to be close at hand.  The TEKNA® XTRA EDGE™ is a superb choice as a Molle harness, watersports, pocket, neck, or keyring knife. The blade is unobtrusively stored in a twist-loc sheath. If you liked the XTRA EDGE™ for the past 30 years, you're going to love what we've done to it!

First, the blade: Now made of 420HC stainless steel, it provides increased toughness and better edge holding with this 21st century steel, proven in millions of premium blades. And we've added a second blade style, a flat screwdriver tip, useful on most flat and Phillips screws, for added utility. Blade length 1.4".

Next, the sheath/handle: Now made with TEKNALON™ CFTRP, our propriety fiber and Titanium reinforced engineering polymer, these parts also provide enhanced toughness and strength over the original. And we've added color choices, isn't modern technology wonderful?

Hang one on your PFD, Molle harness, or BC for watersports or tactical use to keep an extra edge handy. Overall length 3-1/2". Includes a nickel-plated carabiner-type keyring, see below for stainless-steel watersports ring.

Made in the U.S.A. (complies with the "Buy American Act", may contain imported components). 1 year warranty.

Great long term tool
- 11/23/2023
Have had your Xtra edge on my keyring for over 30 years. Probably closer to 35. I have worked in a warehouse my whole life & my little friend has had lots of abuse over my 31 years managing Logistics for a large computer manufacturer in Houston. Likely a trainload of boxes opened over the years with it. Blade's still in good shape despite being resharpened numerous times throughout the years. Thanks for making a quality product.
a great knife - now even better

I have had two of these for probably 30+ years and have used them so many times. I'd thought they stopped making them long ago. Recently I lost mine (my fault, not its) and was very happy to find that not only did Tekna company still exist and make these, but that they'd fixed the one issue they used to have, that the steel was a bit soft and didn't hold an edge that well. I immediately got a new one and it's back on my keychain, and now getting another for my son. Highly recommended!

a great knife - now even better -- added note
- 09/03/2023
just a note to add to my earlier review:
I don't use the included carabiner but use a 3/4 inch diameter split ring to connect my tekna xtra edge to my keyring. That has worked well for me for years and is a bit less bulky on my keyring.
Better Than Ever!

The "new" version of the Extra Edge by Tekna is even better than the original. Iโ€™ve owned several of the 80โ€™s versions over the years yet as they aged the blade could slip lose from the sheath. I kept those old ones in a drawer since I was concerned about losing the blades. Now Tekna has redesigned the Extra Edge with new material and a stiffer connection of the blade to the sheath. I plan to order several more to keep and give away as gifts to friends and family. They are incredibly practical and canread more
Bought in early 1980's

Bought mine 1982-83 I think. I love it dearly and the best description I have for it is "indestructible".
Owned since 1980s

I have owned this wonderful keychain knife since the mid 1980s. I have used it on my keyring since high school and pretty much carried it every day since I got it. I highly recommend this knife.
GREAT GIFT

GREAT GIFT
Handy

Awesome small knife, it required some sharpening, but it is overall very compact and handy.
Disappointed! Made in USA ???? and this happens?
- 11/05/2020
I open the package and realize it?s made in USA and I feel pride and marvel how it can be $15 and I go to pull the sheath off and the blade comes right out of the handle with it. Disappointed. I can probably smear some JB Weld in the slit where the blade goes and fix it. Otherwise, the quality of the metal and the sheath and handle are nice. I saw this on wealljuggleknives channel and he said his needed a slight reprofile, but mine seems decent. Except the blade falling out thing. I could return it, but Iread more
